Motion Picture Classic, July 1931 - Artist: Marland Stone

Movie Classic, March 1933

Movie Classic, April 1933 - just because it involves a zoo, this is not one for the kiddies.

Photoplay, July 1933 - though late in her career, Marion is still receiving star treatment with a color ad, quite a rarity for movie ads in the film publications of the day. Strangely, the illustration looks more twenties than thirties.

I am guessing this is a publicity still image from The Divorcee, but I don't recall a scene exactly like this in the film. However, given the title of the picture and them both wielding weapons...

Beautiful example of a hand tinted J. Beagles & Co. embossed card from Great Britain.

And now a word from our sponsor.

Motion Picture Classic, December 1930
If you think it was easy to contact 20, 679 doctors in 1930, think again.

Great images as always! I don't think that image is from The Divorcee. Nagel & Shearer did several films together in the silent era. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any of their collaborations during that time. :-(
I'm guessing it may be The Waning Sex 1926 where she plays a bit of a tomboy. Would that be too early for your photograph? Where did you get it?
Thanks Raquelle. Yeah, strange, I thought the card was later, but not really sure - I have had it for a couple of years, but it is unused, hence no postmark for a clue as to date. They are on a boat in Divorcee, and he seems to be wearing a nacutical looking cap. Of course The Waning Sex has them as criminal attorney and defense lawyer, and they could be "packing" as well. :-)
Yay! "Ladies They Talk About" is one of my favorite Pre-Coders. Thanks so much for all your beautiful work.
Thanks for posting the picture of Marion Davies. That would make a great face on a cloth doll.
You don't have Vivien Leigh?!?!?!??!!?!??! In your entire blog that is. i was looking at your individual links to actors/actress and i didn't find her name.
Well done though, i too am a fan of this glamorous time of Hollywood. Now its just trashy.
Love the second image! I wish I owned that!!
